What exactly is Plume?

Plume delivers skill badges through a 15-minute voice interview with AI. You receive a score out of 100, a level (Novice / Proficient / Advanced / Expert), a detailed report, and a public URL to share.

Who's the AI evaluating me?

Accepted Answer

Live interviewer is OpenAI Realtime (shimmer voice). Final evaluation is by Claude Opus (Anthropic), which re-reads the transcript and applies a weighted rubric. Both providers are configured so your conversation isn't reused for training.

How long does it really take?

The interview is 15 minutes (12-18 depending on pace). Tech check beforehand is 1-2 minutes. Badge is delivered within 1 minute after the interview ends. Total: about 20 minutes.

Who can listen to my audio?

Accepted Answer

Nobody by default. Audio and transcript are strictly private. A recruiter can request access via a form on your badge page, you decide whether to accept. If you accept, they get a link valid for 7 days.

What prevents cheating?

Three combined mechanisms. (1) The interviewer follows up unpredictably on your answers, hard to fake. (2) A second AI flags overly perfect answers, lack of personal examples, and inconsistencies; low-confidence sessions are manually audited. (3) Browser signals (focus loss, audio level) are tracked.

Why €19.99 and not free?

An evaluation costs about €1.50 in AI fees, plus manual audit when the score is borderline. More importantly, a paywall filters serious candidates and prevents spam. No subscription, no hidden fees, you pay once per badge. At launch, the code PLUME5 takes €15 off.

What if I fail the tech check?

If your microphone is broken or the audio is unusable, the check blocks the interview and you get an automatic refund on your card (3-5 business days).

Can I retake the test?

Yes, after 30 days for the same skill. The cooldown prevents prompt-cramming and ensures the score reflects real progress, not memorization.

Can I display my badge on LinkedIn / CV?

Accepted Answer

You receive a public URL (plume.works/b/xxxxx) and a shareable image. Use it in LinkedIn's Achievements section, in your email signature, or on your CV. A QR code and printable version are available from the badge page.

Is it recognized by recruiters?

Accepted Answer

Plume is an indicative tool, not an official certification. Its value comes from transparency: the report is public, the audio is available on request. A skeptical recruiter can listen to the 15-minute oral. It's the evidence that counts, not the label.

Question 11

What about my data (GDPR)?

Accepted Answer

Everything is hosted in Germany (Frankfurt). You retain ownership of your voice. You can delete your account and all data anytime via hello@plume.works (purge within 72h). Per GDPR article 22, you can contest any algorithmic decision and request human review within 5 business days.

Is it available in English?

The interface is available in French and English. Evaluations themselves can be done in your preferred language (FR or EN at launch).
